Taylor Guitars is seeking qualified individuals for the following positions:
Guitar Finisher (Night Shift Production) - Apply Online
We are seeking to hire two-three full-time Night Shift Guitar Finishers who would perform the tasks of prepping, spraying, sanding and buffing the guitar body. The Night Shift Schedule is 4:00pm-Midnight Monday –Friday. Applicants should have experience in woodworking with good hand skills, be able to work in a high-production environment, and be very detail-oriented.  

Compensation: $10.00 + .50/hr


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Picks up the assigned body referring to the Production Schedule
-          Inspects the body for imperfections and scuffs the sealer with sandpaper
-          Rounds (scrapes) the binding with an Xacto knife
-          Scrapes the binding with a double-edged razor blade
-          Places mylar mask on the top to protect from finish
-          Places a “paste-filling” handle on the guitar body
-          Applies paste filler
-          Places in UV oven
-          Scuffs the body with sandpaper
-          Wipes guitar body with clean cloth
-          Relays body over  for robotic spraying
-          Sands body with orbital sander
-          Wipes down and “De waxes” body to prep for final spraying
-          Repeats spray, oven, sanding and robotic buffing
-          Hand cleans the body with fluff wheel and inspects for flaws
-          Hand shines body and waxes body
-          Relays for inspection


Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

Knowledge of spraying and finishing procedures
Knowledge of how to use equipment and materials properly
Skill of working with hands effectively
Ability to read and interpret written information
Ability to get along with others and to work well in a team environment
